One of the biggest complaints we hear is the amount of time it takes to bounce from google to bing and back, hoping to find the kind of ornament you're looking for. Frequent changes over at Big G have made for additional effort scanning past all the big name brands. Of course, if we want an ornament from Target, for example, we just look up Target. The same is true for Martha Stewart, Sears, and God knows all those other "big box" stores. Why they're now in niche searches is anybody's guess.

We used to be able to rely on page 1, but now, it takes 2-3 pages to find the small mom and pop stores that carry the really good merchandise. To this end, shopping engines or marketplaces have become even more valuable, particularly when they've done all the work assembling like-kind of gifts from all over the internet (and not from Target!). You might also consider some other search engine if you're looking for unique gifts. Yahoo does a wonderful job at finding the smaller shops that offer all sorts of unique gifts that you just can't find at the big box stores.
